I’m Fiona Bird a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist, experienced in working with individuals and couples. I’m well versed in helping people to work through navigate life challenges, working towards properly defined aims.
I’m a UKCP registered psychotherapist and this means that my training has been rigorous, I’ve dealt with my own issues through my own therapy, and I continue to stay informed and in touch with professional developments and standards. My job is to ensure that you feel supported and listened to. More than that it’s to be alongside you as you actively problem solve whatever it is that’s troubling you.
My practice rooms are based in the beautiful spa town of Ilkley overlooking the famous Ilkley moor. If you’re not in the Wharfedale area I am also able to offer appointments online.
What is psychotherapy? Psychotherapy is a talking therapy akin to counselling. The main difference between a counsellor and a UKCP registered psychotherapist is the length of and depth of the training which is a minimum of four years, to include extensive personal therapy (minimum of 160 hours).
